About Spicy Book Baddie
Who’s Your Baddie?
Hi, my name is Tinsley and I am so glad you are here! This is my corner of the internet where I will be sharing my honest book reviews, current reads, new releases, special editions, and more!
I started my reading journey in March of 2023. During 2023 I read a total of 66 books. I nose-dived right off the cliff into the deep end by starting my reading with Credence by Penelope Douglas. My second book was Den of Vipers by K.A. Knight. As you can see, I didn’t start shy at all.
TikTok did a lot of influencing at first of what I was reading. I don’t think I can say I ever hated a book I read, and I am not a DNF girl. Power to those who do, I have nothing against it, I just can’t bring myself to do it, lol.
However, I have now found my footing and have learned which genres, tropes, and authors I enjoy reading. I have also taught myself to actually read the synopsis of a book before buying it. I am still easily influenced by social media, but at least now I have an idea of what I am looking at.
My favorite genres are Fantasy Romance (Romantasy) and Dark Romance. Yes, I am here for the taboo too. I will however read anything, but it needs some romance to it. I do not require spice in a read, meaning I will read a “closed-door” romance but it better have an amazing plot to make up for it, ha. Picking a favorite author is also very hard, as everyone and every book usually holds a place in my heart. But, if I had to choose… Jennifer L. Armentrout is a #1 pick for me. I am obsessed with her two series From Blood and Ash and Flesh and Fire. Daddy Nyktos is literally my husband.
Let’s talk about tropes… right away I can tell you my top 2 favorites are Reverse Harems (because the more the merrier) and Mafia Romance. Give me a talk, dark, and handsome man in a suit, or five… and I will be a happy happy lady.
I have created this blog to not only share my love for the books I have read, but to help you find books by spice scale as well. I can’t wait to continue my reading journey with you, and I hope you find your next read here with me!

Rating system: Stars
Please note, I give ratings based on my feelings more than I do grammatical errors and how the book is written.
1 Star
I feel like I always rate books higher than other people do… so for me to give a 1 star to a book I have to really not enjoy it. This book has to have some major issues, and I would not recommend it.
2 Stars
I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it. I wasn’t enjoying myself while reading this book. This book could’ve been better or I was expecting more.
3 Stars
This book was good, but I won’t be going around thinking about it for months. It may just not be a book for me, but I would recommend it if it fits what someone is looking for.
4 Stars
I really enjoyed this book. This book has a great plot, characters, and sometimes great smut. I would highly recommend this book to people.
Rating system: Spice
No Spice
This book contained “closed-door
romance elements, such as kissing but anything past that fades to black.
1 Pepper
This book contains romance but is not very detailed. Usually a lot of sexual tension and 1 intimate sex scene.
2 Peppers
This book contains 2-3 scenes, but is not overly explicit. There is detail, but it is not full of vulgar language/ “dirty talk” as well.
3 Peppers
This book has a few scenes, nicely written. Definitely some dirty talk and details. The book, however, remains plot-heavy.
4 Peppers
This book has many sexual scenes. Usually kinky, explicit detail, and the spice is a main part of the plot/characters.
